This Thursday, March 30, members of the extended Allman Brothers Band family will take the stage at the Ardmore Music Hall for a night of music honoring late ABB drummer Butch Trucks. Net proceeds from the night will go to Butch Truck’s foundation, The Big House Foundation, which benefits the Allman Brothers Band museum and educational programs.
The lineup includes members of ABB projects such as Les Brers, Butch Trucks & the Freight Train Band, The Gregg Allman Band, Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band, Dickey Betts Band & more.
Butch Trucks joined the Allman Brothers Band as one of their drummers in 1969 and continued to hold it down until the final tour. After the original band stopped playing, Trucks continued to drum in side projects Les Brers and Butch Trucks & the Freight Train Band until his tragic death this past January.
His spirit will live on forever in the timeless music of the band and will come alive this Thursday in Ardmore. The lineup for the Butch Trucks Tribute show will include:
Bruce Katz (Les Brers + Butch Trucks & the Freight Train Band) – Keys
Andy Aledort (Dickey Betts Band) – Slide guitar
Junior Mack (Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band) – Guitar & vocals
Lamar Williams Jr. (Les Brers) – Vocals
Tad Isch (Butch Trucks & the Freight Train Band) – Drums
David Stoltz (Jaimoe’s Jasssz Band) – Bass
Garrett Dawson (Butch Trucks & the Freight Train Band) – Percussion
+ special guest Grahame Lesh – Guitar
Grahame Lesh and Midnight North will provide an opening set. Come on out and get on down in honor of Butch!
