There are two things, among others, that we have noticed while living in Philadelphia: winter weather is never consistent, and the city has a thriving music scene. With temperatures fluctuating between 30- 60 degrees and multiple shows happening this weekend, this could not be more apparent.

To make it easier on everyone, we’ve jotted down the most anticipated concerts taking place this week. Take a look below to see what’s going on and let us know what shows you’ll check out!

Talib Kweli w/ Styles P
When: Thursday, February 9
Where: Theatre of the Living Arts
Why: In support of their upcoming album, The Seven, hiphop legends Talib Kweli and Styles P have joined forces, for the greater good. If you are unfamiliar with these two gentlemen, just know that you’d struggle to find a more lyrical duo rapping right now. Don’t miss greatness!

The Werks w/Flux Capacitor
When: Friday, February 10
Where: The Foundry
Why: After taking a break from touring and finding themselves back in the studio, The Werks are back and better than ever. Having not released an album since late 2015, the band has come to bless us with a new one, set to release in the middle of March. Come on out and support these guys. You won’t regret it.

Marco Benevento
When: Friday, February 10
Where: Ardmore Music Hall
Why:It’s Marco Benevento….duh!

Box of Rain w/ Boris Garcia
When: Saturday, February 11
Where: Theatre of Living Arts
Why: Who doesn’t love ’68-’74 era Grateful Dead? NO ONE. Throw in some progressive bluegrass from Boris Garcia, and you have yourself a party. Come on out!

When: Saturday, February 11
Where: Union Transfer
Why: While Boombox comes to Philadelphia at the beginning of every year, this will be their first time performing with their newest member, DJ Harry. Months ago, we were made aware that DJ Keith had plans to work on solo projects from now on. Fear not! By the looks of it, DJ Harry has been keeping up with the traditional Boombox sound that we all know and love. If you are looking for a place to dance this weekend, look no further.

Splintered Sunlight (+21)
When: Saturday, February 11
Where: Underground Arts
Why: It’s Splintered Sunlight! A homegrown Grateful Dead tribute band, that rocks. It’s self explanatory. GO

We look forward to seeing you all this week!
