It’s that magical time of the year again. With the holidays coming up, there’s not much that can beat spending time with loved ones….except seeing live music with those loved ones. If you are still deciding what to do for New Year’s Eve, or even the days before it, check out this list of shows to help you decide. 2016 was a wild year. Let’s end in style.

Electron w/Catullus
When: December 23, 2016
Where: Ardmore Music Hall
Why: When you put Mark Brownstein and Aron Magner from the Disco Biscuits, Tom Hamilton from JRAD, and Mike Greenfield from Lotus on the same stage, jams are bound to take place. Opening up for them is none other than the hometown boys Catullus. After having a great year, the band looks to wind down 2016 in style. Don’t miss out!

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong
When: December 28, 2016
Where: Theatre of Living Arts
Why:  Wax Future + Swift Technique + Pigeons Playing Ping Pong = funk for days. We hope we don’t need to say more.

Lotus w/The New Deal
When: December 29, 2016
Where: Electric Factory
Why: It’s no secret that over here at Earnuggets, we love Lotus. Back for the third time this year, performing with The New Deal, Lotus returns to their hometown to funk it up proper. Just come.

When: December 30, 2016
Where: Fillmore
Why: Stressed over final grades or that pesky work deadline that you’ve been putting off? Come on out and take a load off with some high-energy dance music. Gramatik has the beats to keep you bumping

Dark Star Orchestra w/Keller Williams
When: December 30-31
Where: Electric Factory
Why: Need to get your Dead fix before the year ends? What better way than to witness DSO recreate the Grateful Dead experience for TWO nights. Keller, New Years, and Grateful Dead music…no brainer.

When: December 31
Where: Theatre of Living Arts
Why: If you don’t enjoy homegrown Pennsylvania bluegrass, we don’t want to be friends!

Kurt Vile
When: December 31
Where: The Fillmore
Why: The War On Drugs Kurt Vile? Philadelphia native Kurt Vile? 13 solo projects Kurt Vile? That’s the one.

We’d like to thank all of our readers and friends of the site for supporting us and what we do. We hope you all have a happy holiday season and a superb New Years. See y’all in 2017!
