One thing bluegrass fans in the Philadelphia area can always look forward to this time of year is the return of Railroad Earth‘s Horn O’ Plenty celebration. The annual two-night jubilee returns this Friday and Saturday to the Sherman Theater in Stroudsburg, PA.. and it’s back with some great guests.
Bluegrass powerhouse Railroad Earth and their Thanksgiving celebration have become a staple of sorts to the area, with their roots in New Jersey and strong local fanbase, the Horn O Plenty has grown into a can’t miss tradition.
This year is no different and promises to be one for the ages. While two nights of RRE is already something to be desired, this year boasts two amazing guest artists on the bill.
Friday night will be opened by recent jam phenomenon Neal Casal’s Circles Around The Sun. The band hit the scene’s radar after their highly sought after set-break music during the Grateful Dead Fare Thee Well shows and is now hitting the road and playing shows. They made their live debut this summer during Lock’n and will surely blow the minds of all in attendance this weekend.
Saturday’s guest will be jam and bluegrass band Boris Garcia. Recently added to the bill, the band will be using the night to release their newest record, Around Some Corner, which was produced by Railroad Earth front man Tim Carbone! This will definitely be an act to see, maybe some sit-ins? Definite jams.
