Jam fusion act (and EN favorite!) Papadosio will be opening their fall tour this Thursday, 10/6, at the Union Transfer. In support of their newest EP Pattern Integrities, this show is one that all you heady dudes and dudettes will not want to miss.
Opening the night will be sets by locally based groups Flux Capacitor and The Beating. Flux Capacitor are based out of Philly and hit the stage with a fierce blend of improvisational rock and electronica that comes from years of touring and experience in several different rooms around the city as well as the festival circuit. They will surely gain a lot of new fans after their hometown opening act.
The Beating will also do an opening set, featuring Jesse Miller of Lotus! For those of you who are familiar with the Miller brothers from Lotus, they are avid fans and producers of electronic and experimental music. The Beating is an electronic fusion act based out of Philly, and with Jesse Miller helping them out combined with Flux Capacitor’s set, it will be a perfect intro for Papadosio.
Papadosio is based out of Asheville, NC and has steadily grown into a highly regarded staple in the jam and festival scenes in the United States. Recently coming off of a summer long tour including stops headlining various festivals and large venues nationwide (INCLUDING RED ROCKS) it’s no doubt that they have made great strides in the last year. After the success of 2015’s Extras In A Movie tour, Papadosio remains an unstoppable psychedelic force. The best part about this year’s show? TWO SETS. Unfortunately last year they could only do one set at the Fillmore which left us all yearning for more Papadosio in Philly. Well this year, they’re going full on! According to the band, the first set is labeled a “PI” set, which could mean a lot of things, but most likely a “Pattern Integrities” set.
The new EP is a completely different take on the bands approach to their sound. Pattern Integrities lends itself to a huge amount of room for improvisation and sonic exploration. The band has been known to do fully improvised sets during their tours and in true jam band style, Pattern Integrities feels like just that. The band will be opening their tour in Philly and pulling out all the improvisational stops in their first set. What we as the audience can expect remains to be seen, which hypes up this show more than ever!
Papadosio is taking jamtronica to a whole new level with their new album and their growth as a band has been exponential in the last two years. Any fan of jam, rock, electronica or just plain old great experimental musicianship NEEDS to make it out to this show.
Thursday October 6, 2016. Union Transfer. Papadosio. Be there.
