Summer just got a little bit closer (to the sun that is). Slightly Stoopid have just announced a nationwide summer tour aptly dubbed the Return Of The Red Eye Tour. The So-Cal reggae rockers have established themselves among the top acts of their time, which comes as no surprise at all. Miles and Kyle were originally discovered in 1995 by original Sublime frontman (and the ONLY Sublime frontman in my opinion), Bradley Nowell. They were signed to Nowell’s Skunk Records that same year as a ska/punk band and eventually found their sound and skill as the SoCal staple reggae band we know and love.
As the well-known band that they are today, Slightly Stoopid are able to bring along some great supporting acts for the tour as well. Stoopid has been known to tour with some amazing supporting acts with previous tours co-headlining with Cypress Hill, Pepper, 311 and other big names in reggae, rock, and hip-hop.
This time around East Coast reggae heavy hitters SOJA will be joining them for most of the tour, along with support from roots hip-hop acts Zion I, The Grouch & Eligh, and fellow West Coast reggae act Fortunate Youth.
Expect to hear those old school songs you know and love, plus some bust-outs from the crew’s newest release Meanwhile…Back At The Lab.
The tour hits the West Coast first, kicking off in Redmond, Washington on June 15 and ending in Detroit on August 28. Slightly Stoopid plays Philadelphia on August 20 and Asbury Park, NJ the night before on August 19 both with SOJA and Fortunate Youth.
Philadelphia area Ese Locos make sure you hop on those tickets, they go on sale this Friday!
