Well folks, by now we’re sure you’ve heard about it, but the Electric Factory has blessed the jam fans of the city with another kickass show in the form of hometown jamtronica legends Lotus and west coast instrumental power duo El Ten Eleven.
El Ten Eleven is comprised of guitar and bass player Kristian Dunn and drummer Tim Fogarty. Their sound is extremely unique – utilizing various effects pedals, looping and tight drumming combined with sampling and electronic elements. Dunn is known for using his doubleneck guitar/bass, along with a fretless bass like a true professional. This guy is a madman with an insane pedal setup. Alongside Fogarty holding it down with reeled in, yet still intense drumming on his combined electronic and acoustic drum kit makes for a sonic experience like no other.
Here’s one off their newest effort titled “Peter and Jack”
Kicking off their 2016 winter tour, Lotus is definitely getting back at it in full force. Last year on their Guilded Age tour, Philly was unfortunately left out of the mix. Starting the summer off right, the boys made up for this by spreading some good, old fashioned Lotus vibes over the city at the annual Jam on the River celebration at Penn’s Landing. They were accompanied by Catallus, Dopapod, Electron, Flux Capacitor, Tweed, Twiddle, The Werks, Savoy, and last but not least, Papadosio.
From then on, Lotus continued their tour and kept the momentum flowing on the summer festival circuit. Making appearances all over the country at festivals like Greenroom, Wakarusa, Electric Forest, All Good, High Sierra, Peach, and Summerdance, the boys matched the weather and brought the heat!
As the year came to an end and temperatures started dropping, Lotus showed no sign of slowing down or cooling off. With a few tour dates during late fall, the band finished their year and rang in 2016 with a two-night NYE run in Pittsburgh.
You would think these guys would take seat and rest for a little while, but no way! Days later, they packed their bags and boarded ship to perform on Jam Cruise for two nights. After successfully funking up the seven seas, Lotus is back on dry land and coming to their hometown of Philadelphia this Friday! If you still have yet to get your tickets, head to Ticketmaster immediately. This highly anticipated show is not going to be something you want to miss.
Lotus recently remixed one of El Ten Eleven’s songs, and as a bonus, feel free to listen to it below. Don’t forget to buy tickets for the show this Friday. We hope to see everyone there!
