ATTENTION JAM FANS OF THE PHILADELPHIA AREA! We have an absolute rage fest coming our way! That’s right… Once again the wonderful people over at the Ardmore Music Hall have graced us with a brilliant lineup that’s sure to get those bones shakin’ all over the Main Line.
New York heavy hitters TAUK will be headlining this Saturday alongside hometown favorites Wax Future and Catullus! Don’t sleep on this one, guys and gals. Bring your best dance moves and a whole lot of energy because this show is fit to be a nonstop funk party!
Here’s what you’re in for!
Wax Future is comprised of musicians Connor Hansell, Keith Wadsworth. Their live performance is a force to be reckoned with. Featuring 100% live and improvised mix of electronic hip-hop and soul beats done with guitar and synth, combined with live digital art courtesy of Gralin Hughes. This trio is a definite must see show and they’ll get you moving and grooving. They have their live act locked down and have experience playing alongside jamtronica powerhouses Papadosio and EOTO – don’t miss it!
Also adding to the onslaught of pure jam talent on this bill are hometown heroes Catullus. Hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Catullus has been making great strides with their live show in the past couple of years. Catullus is Andrew Meehan on guitar, Chris Bailey on bass, Justin Minnick on keys, Michael Fazekas on drums, and Anthony Zinno on percussion. These guys are really locking in as of late and gaining more and more recognition in the jam and festival scenes. From coming out of a stellar summer as one of the supporting acts at Jam On The River to touring around the Philadelphia area and beyond, Catullus is truly a must see for any jam fans. Their influence and sound pulls from all genres of music. From electronic music, funk, soul, and classic rock – it’s always a party. (This past October they played a Rocky Horror Picture Show themed set at the Ardmore.) Recently, the band has recorded their first full-length studio album, A Maze In Life, which will be available to stream online and for hardcopy purchase on the day of the show. For those of you who can’t make it out this weekend, they will be touring throughout the mid-Atlantic this February starting in Skippack, PA on 2/5.
Finishing out the night at the Ardmore will be New York’s own TAUK. For those who are out of the loop, TAUK is a four piece act comprised of Guitarist Matt Jalbert, bassist Charlie Dolan, keyboard player Alric “A.C.” Carter, and drummer Isaac Teel. Let me tell you.. These guys are powerful! They’ll get you hooked and asking for another show almost immediately. Recently they released their first live album, HEADROOM, on STS9’s 1320 Records. HEADROOM is amazing…describing it with any other adjective is impossible. These dudes are truly becoming a staple in the jam scene. Their chemistry is intense. Through their immersive blend of funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop, their sound will surely blow any first timer away. TAUK are proven road warriors with a wealth of touring and festivals under their belt. Currently, the band is touring extensively (including a bunch of dates with Umphrey’s McGee! Big ups!), and also working with renowned producer Robert Carranza on their next studio album, which will be released later this year. Their headlining spot will be a treat for all who choose to attend.
So if you’re not sure what to do this weekend, now you know! Come out to the Ardmore Music Hall this Saturday to catch an unforgettable night of jamming from some amazing up and coming artists!
