There’s… well… there’s a lot going on, musically, in the city this weekend and it all starts tomorrow night. Let’s get weird! Actually before we do, just wanna say thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the Amtrak crash in Philly last night. Almost as tragic as the loss of life is that I’ve seen way too many people on social media exploiting the crash and turning it into a political/government issue. It makes me sad.

Okay… now that that’s out of the way, click to read more after the jump. LET’S GET WEIRD!

Kill Paris @ Coda

Kill Paris slayed at Soundgarden Hall last year. He’s fresh off of his latest studio release, and his first on his own (sans help from OWSLA). It’s vvvvvery good. Have a listen here, and of course, check out his well known version of “Baby Come Back,” and tell me it’s not gonna be a good time. Also excited to check out Coda, a new venue here in town. Tickets available here.

BRONCHO @ Johnny Brenda’s

JB’s was made for shows like this. Fuzzy, guitar driven, indie rock trio from Oklahoma. Boom. Craft Brews and BRONCHO. What else could you want? Tickets available here.

Jam on the River Kick Off Bash featuring American Babies, Kung Fu, and Twiddle @ TLA

I can’t think of a better way to get ready for Jam on the River than these three bands. American Babies may be on the bottom of the lineup card tonight, T Ham and friends are making a name for themselves. Of course, how could you not wanna get down for Kung Fu and Twiddle, but my point is get there early and enjoy some killer Am Babes jammy jams! Tickets available here.

Jam on the River featuring Catallus, Tweed, Flux Capacitor, Twiddle, The Werks, Dopapod, Savoy, Electron, Papadosio, and Lotus @ Festival Pier

I don’t need to say anything more about this. This is gonna be a wild day/night of music, and that it’ll all get started with some serious players in the local scene is even better. Check out our JotR playlist and get your tickets here.

Joe Russo’s Almost Dead @ TLA

This Grateful Dead cover band is so much more. Touting names like Russo, Metzger, Hamilton, and Benevento… all young legends in their own right, this band has made a name for themselves and we’re lucky to have them grace us on South Street. Of course, tickets have been sold out for months. So good luck. Check out our review of their Denver show not too long ago!
