The Jam on the River event has been a May staple in the Philadelphia area for years now, but 2015 will mark its first year calling Festival Pier its home. While some will revert to the old I wish things never changed ever routine, this move is for the better, for sure. Festival Pier offers brand new million dollar renovations for the upcoming concert/festival season and is a perfect venue to show off 2015’s insane JOTR lineup.
Jam-tronica fans, rejoice. For one Mid-May (May 16th to be exact) Saturday afternoon/evening, Festival Pier will be your mecca. Please welcome this year’s 2015 Jam on the River full lineup: Twiddle, The Werks, Dopapod, Savoy, Electron, Papadosio and Lotus.
At first I was a little shocked to see Twiddle, The Werks, and Dopapod at the very bottom of a Jam on the River lineup, but this only speaks to the stacked nature of the event. Hell, that Savoy is in the middle of it all speaks even louder volumes, volumes that will only be outdone by the levels of filthy, dirty, untz. Oh. And the lasers. Oh the lasers.
Psychedelic, electronic, folk, and otherwise genre-defying Papadosio will lead into another hometown set from the boys of Lotus, whose recent album releases have covered everything from, well, actual covers, to electronic, hip hop, and funk rock. You never know what these guys are going to bring, just that they’ll bring their A-game every time.
As if this couldn’t get any better, the folks of Jam on the River were so excited that they just couldn’t wait to get the party started, so they’ve recently announced the Jam on the River Kick Off Bash. The pre-party will take place Friday night May 15th at the TLA, and will consist of Twiddle, funk band Kung-Fu, and, wouldn’t you know, more Tommy Hamilton, as his American Babies will officially kick off the weekend.
We’re a little excited over here, so we couldn’t wait to make our own JotR playlist on Spotify. Check it out below! Tickets for both Jam on the River and the Kick Off Bash are still available but going fast so act now!
For anyone still here, here’s a special bonus track to that playlist: a remix of Papadosio’s “Find Your Cloud” by the dude Vibe Street. Check it out here!
