Covering the sold out Mod Sun show in the Marlin Room at Webster Hall was probably one of the most interesting experiences I’ve ever had. As the venue quickly filled up with people of all ages (many in their Mod Sun apparel) the lights dimmed and the music started.
A conglomerate of dope talent and other artists to watch opened the show and certainly got the crowd going and excited for what was to come. I watched the stage as the excitement grew; the lights got low and Mod Sun came darting out of the green room already performing with a band in full swing and the crowd in full memorization. Throughout the show Mod was constantly reaching into the audience connecting with his fans, as he said himself on stage that night “I don’t have fans, I have friends.”
He proceeded to kill the stage with his live band and even stopped to call his mother and leave her a voicemail letting her know he had sold out the venue! Overall the show as exciting, and Mod certainly knows how to rock a crowd. If you haven’t heard of him, be on the look out. If you have a chance to see him life, I recommend it highly.
