The Philadelphia based American Babies had a big 2014 and you probably saw them rock at City Bisco, or maybe you saw them across the country playing with some of the biggest names in live music today. Fronted by Tom Hamilton (Brothers Past, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Electron) is settling back into the studio to record the follow up to their 2013 “Knives & Teeth.”
The group has returned to Philadelphia to record the new album, yet to be named, with a solidified lineup including bassist Clay Parnell (Particle/Brothers Past), drummer Al Smith (Cold Fronts), guitarist Justin Mazer (Leroy Justice) and, of course, Hamilton.
“Knives & Teeth” was released to great reception and the band has gathered quite the following, locally, and nationally, with members of the group getting to share the stage with legends Joe Russo, Phil Lesh, and Bill Kreutzmann.
“I’m excited to lock myself back in the studio,” Hamilton said, “and see how all these events and new experiences shape the next batch of songs.”
American Babies have a few major dates to keep in mind:
