Lost in the craziness that was the holidays was some news near and dear to my heart: Dispatch will return to Madison Square Garden July 11 and will bring with them special guest, John Butler Trio.

The event, Dispatch Hunger: Access for All, will, appropriately, be aimed at shedding light on the issue of hunger in America, and will reportedly be Dispatch’s only stop in North America in 2015.

John Butler Trio, on the other hand, already has scheduled stops at the California Roots Festival May 22, Summer Camp Festival May 23, and Telluride June 18. We can probably expect to see them on another lineup or two before the Summer is over.

Ticket prices for Dispatch Hunger range from $48-$75, which, for MSG, is completely reasonable.

A number of presales start Jan 16 at noon, with general public tickets on sale on Jan 23 at noon. More ticket info here.

If you’re not familiar with either Dispatch or JBT… well… here’s a start:

And this video of “The General” by Dispatch. Their “final” show together in 2004. A free concert put on in Boston where they hoped to get 20,000-30,000 people. They got over 100,000.

PS – The event is apparently part of the Time Warner Cable concert series. So halfway through the concert the ticket price will double but we’ll all get free HBO for a month. Win some lose some I guess.
